The Grey House was, we believe, built as an inn c.1580 in the coaching town of eccleshall on the route from London to Chester. Originally known as "Mr. Benbow's Half Moon" and later as "The Rainbow" it became a Georgian home in 1789 and in keeping with fashion was given its present Georgian façade, together with additional rooms at the rear.
The present owners, Jonathan and Elizabeth take pleasure in offering bed and breakfast either in the charm of the main house or in the privacy of the coach house
